the best thing I have ever done for myself! Why would anyone
want to wear glasses or contact lenses if they could have
done this to correct their vision. Its been three years since
my procedure and I still see better than I ever did with contact
lenses!! I first had a free consultation with Dr. Gelwan who
made sure I was an ideal candidate before he would do the
procedure on me. He then spent 30 minutes detailing exactly

I
never needed glasses til I was 40 years old. At that time,
I just needed reading glasses. By age 45, I also needed them
for distance. I was really dependent on the glasses and I
was miserable!! Being an optician and contact lens specialist
in practice in Manhattan, taking care of many famous actors
and actresses, I had access to every type of contact lens
available; bifocal, multifocals, hard, soft, gas permeable,
and even experimental material not yet available to the general
public. None of these lenses were comfortable or made me see
the way I wanted to see. Its been 2 ½ years since my LASIK
procedure with Dr. Gelwan and I can see 20/15 for distance
and read the telephone book without contacts or glasses. I
just turned 50, oh God!! I’m Dr. Gelwan’s wife and this is
one of the best things he’s done for me.
