FREE Evaluation

Complimentary evaluations for laser vision correction are available. Contact us today to schedule yours and find out if you are a candidate for LASIK surgery.

At your LASIK work, Dr. Pamel will take your measurements, administer all the necessary tests, and prepare you for LASIK surgery. If after the LASIK work up you decide NOT to have LASIK surgery, you will be charged $150.00 for the work up.

Pricing

The fee for LASIK surgery is $3800 to $4500 for both eyes. This fee is all inclusive, consisting of your evaluation, LASIK work up, surgery fees, follow up appointments, and any necessary enhancements within one year of your surgery date.

Enhancement Policy

Enhancements, think of an enhancement as a touch up procedure, are free of charge within one year of your surgery date. After one year, enhancements are performed based on individual circumstances.

Results

  • 95 percent of Dr. Pamel's refractive surgery patients achieve visual acuity of 20/25 or better.
  • Dr. Pamel's enhancement rate is less than three percent, though it does vary with prescription.

VISX

VISX laser systems have features that translate into several advantages for you:

VISX laser systems produce the smoothest surface on the cornea after the procedure. Smoother ablations, as they're known, promote faster healing and result in better vision.

VISX laser systems allow the doctor to track your eye movement in all three dimensions during the treatment, for greater control.

VISX laser systems achieve an optical zone that may result in reduced problems with night vision

VISX ActiveTrakTM laser systems produce seven variable sized beams, giving the doctor greater flexibility and allowing for a faster, smoother treatment with precise corneal shaping.

VISX laser systems require a shorter procedure time, which enhances comfort and may reduce the risk of postoperative complications.

LADARVision®

The LADARVision® system addresses the challenge of eye movement with its incredibly fast and accurate laser radar eye tracking system. Adapting a tracking concept originally developed by NASA, the LADARVision® system employs technology that tracks eye movements 4,000 times a second, more than fast enough to follow, and compensate for, eye movement.

LADARVision Laser

LADARVision'sŪ small 0.8 mm flying small-spot laser beam is very precise, gradually shaping the cornea by removing the least amount of tissue necessary for refractive error correction.

The small-beam laser represents the next generation of excimer laser technology. Currently the only small-beam laser to be FDA approved, that also incorporates Active Eye tracking technology, is the LADARVision® system by Alcon Summit Autonomous.

The laser's U-shaped tip, with smooth, round corners, aids in producing a smooth surface on the cornea.

Nidek, Co. Ltd.
Nidek Co. Ltd. (Japan) has been awarded ISO9001 Quality Systems Model in design, development, production and customer service.

Nidek's segmental ablation system allows precise ablation of specific areas on the cornea to correct higher-order aberrations detected by the OPD-ScanTM, which cannot be corrected by glasses or normal refractive surgery.

3D motorized control stick along with improved illumination and aiming beams provide precise control of laser beam delivery arm.

Laser delivery parameters are automatically calculated by entering the basic data into the laser's computer. During the ablation procedure, the computer monitors the system parameters continuously.

Continuous Improvement

Dr. Pamel tracks numerous variables from his past procedures to better taylor your procedure to your specific eye condition. Some of those variables include age, sex, degree of near or farsightedness, corneal thickness, temperature of laser suite, and the type of laser. Having performed 4,500 LASIK procedures, Dr. Pamel has considerable experience performing LASIK surgery on a myriad of eyes.
