Robbins Eye Center -- Bridgeport, Connecticut

Laser vision correction works by gently reshaping the cornea to the desired curvature. The surgeon uses the cool beam of the laser to remove a microscopic amount of tissue — less than human hair in most cases — to create the new curvature. Robbins Eye Center uses the state-of-the-art VISX Laser with the WavePrint System to customize your laser vision correction. Each solution is as individual as you are. The three main elements are:

The WavePrint Map
3D ActiveTrak™ Eyetracker
Variable Spot Scanning* (VSS™)

The WavePrint Map

WavePrint
Like your fingerprint, your WavePrint Map is unique to you

The WavePrint Map provides information on more than just the corneal surface of your eye. It reveals the way your entire optical system processes light, providing a level of diagnostic information previously unavailable to the doctor. Using this information, your doctor can:

WavePrint MapAccurately assess whether you’re a good candidate for laser vision correction. The WavePrint Map is the gold standard in vision measurement. Anyone who is considering laser vision correction should obtain a WavePrint Map as the first step.

• Personalize your treatment plan to your unique vision. The WavePrint Map permits this kind of personalized planning.

3D ActiveTrak

3D ActiveTrak
3D ActiveTrak lets you relax with the knowledge that you’re obtaining a correction precisely centered on your eye

3D ActiveTrak™ follows the tiny motions of your eye instantaneously and automatically in three dimensions, repositioning the laser to ensure accuracy. Without a tracking device, laser vision correction requires patients to hold their eyes as still as possible during the procedure. However, even a “still” eye makes minute, involuntary movements — including moving slightly with each breath. You don’t have these worries with 3D ActiveTrak.

VariableSpot Scanning

VariableSpot Scanning
Variable Spot Scanning considers pupil size

VariableSpot Scanning* (VSS™) is an exclusive VISX laser technology that allows for a larger treatment area. This offers the physician greater flexibility in developing a more personalized laser vision procedure when pupil size may be a consideration.
