Dr. Schefkind began practicing refractive surgery in 1993, and has performed thousands of surgeries since that time.

Dr. Schefkind is a board-certified ophthalmologist affiliated with TLC Laser Eye Centers. He is a Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Tufts University and received his medical training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he was a recipient of the Alpha Omega Alpha award. He went on to complete a residency in ophthalmology at the Scheie Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Penn.
