Although the LASIK surgery was a little
more stressful than I had imagined, the results thus far are better
than my expectations. I was at the doctors office for about 1 1/2 Hours,
however the actual LASIK surgery only took approximately
20 minutes (total for both eyes). The LASIK
surgery was virtually painless.
There was some discomfort that evening, however it was over within about
five hours of surgery.
Prior to LASIK surgery I had around
5 to 7 diopters of nearsightedness and some moderate amount of astigmatism.
The doctor found my vision to be better than 20/20 (both eyes) at his
office the day after surgery. I have some minor halo effect, but very
minimal compared to illustrations in various publications of what might
occur. I'm told the halo effect will probably become less or go away
completely as I continue to heal over the next several months. I have
no problem seeing or driving after dark.
